16 weeks

How Old? 16 Weeks

How big is baby? She weighed in on Friday 4/12 and she is 13#15oz

Features/Changes? Drool, drool and even more drool. If she doesn’t have a bib on she wets the front of her shirt and even down to her pants with all the goober. And those hands are almost never away from her face, heck she is usually even trying to jam them into her mouth...even if she has her nuk, she is fighting to get those hands in her mouth. I have been diligently checking for signs of a tooth, but don’t see anything that even remotely signals she is getting one. OH well, no rush on that, or one day I will just be surprised to find one.

Movment/Gestures? She is officially a roller. On Monday night she finally pushed hard enough to get past that shoulder and get over onto her belly. Once there she gets a bit mad if you leave her that way too long, but she’ll have to get used to it sooner or later. She has been getting her hands on her nuk and pulling it out of her mouth. She will then wave it around in her hand and is sometimes able to successfully get it back in her mouth. She also has quite the habit of kicking just her left leg. We frequently tease her that she must take after her Grandpa with her leg bouncing tendencies :)

Sleep? She has still been getting up, typically between 2 and 3. I bring her into bed with me to nurse and then she will usually sleep until 5 or 6 before I have to wake her to nurse again. She has still been taking some pretty long naps. On Sunday she slept for 6 hours!! This mommy sure got a lot done, especially since GB played outside with dad a lot.

Best Moment of the Week? Seeing her roll over for the first time. She did it at home first and not at daycare (unless there is something they are not telling me)

Milestones: Rolling over!

I must have taken 20-30 pictures, trying to get just one where she was looking at the camera and didn't have her hands in her mouth. I managed to get a few, but decided that one of them with her hands up to her face was more representative of the time period.

She also wouldn't actually sit up for very long before she was rearing back and sliding down, as in the picture below. I think she is working to foul my picture taking opportunities even earlier than her brother did.

GB was being a "good" helper trying to get her attention in my general direction so mommy could take a picture, but then he just couldn't resist climbing up on the couch to be in the picture too. Seeing him next to her just make him look even bigger.
